- Over the next four years capital purchases are predicted to be half a billion dollars lower under Labor
- The infrastructure spend is still lower than the LNP’s last budget by almost $1.3 billion
- Labor promises infrastructure but never delivers
Toowoomba region will once again miss out on vital infrastructure spending with the do-nothing Labor Government cutting spending by more than $200 million.
LNP Deputy Leader and Shadow Infrastructure Minister says the Labor Government always promises infrastructure but never delivers.
“This government has cut infrastructure in Toowoomba by $201 million dollars,” Ms Frecklington said.
“This do-nothing Labor Government continues to starve Regional Queensland of vital infrastructure investment – they have essentially sold out Regional Queenslanders.
“Labor promises infrastructure but never delivers.
“This is simply more proof this budget is a con and Labor simply can’t be trusted.
“Over the next four years capital purchases are predicted to be half a billion dollars lower under Labor.”
Ms Frecklington said under the Labor Government building our regions had not been funded and regions had once again been hung out to dry.
“Infrastructure and jobs would be front and centre of an LNP Government’s ‘New Deal’ for Regional Queensland,” Ms Frecklington said.
“We will ensure Regional Queenslanders get their fair share.
“Labor has no roots in regional Queensland, whereas the LNP will boost its $500 million Royalties for Regions program to build projects Labor will not fund.
“We need to build things again, we need to build the roads, bridges and dams we need.
“Only an LNP Government will build a better Queensland.”
